Giuseppe “Joe” Anthony Iannucci, 49, of Wethersfield passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026. Born in Hartford on August 13, 1977, he was the beloved son of Delia (Ricci) Iannucci of Telese Terme, Italy, and late Mario Iannucci. He grew up in Wethersfield, where he attended and graduated from Wethersfield High School. He continued his education at Central Connecticut State University, earning his bachelor’s degree.
Joe dedicated himself to his work as a Behavioral Technician at the Boys & Girls Club of New Britain, a role that reflected his genuine love for children and his caring nature.
He was a true original—old-school at heart, with a deep appreciation for all kinds of genres. His musical taste knew no boundaries, though a constant soundtrack of the Beastie Boys, classic hip-hop, and funk always held a special place in his rotation. Music was his greatest passion, and he loved nothing more than sharing that joy whenever he was DJing. Whether he was cheering on his beloved Lakers, Giants, Knicks or Yankees, cracking jokes, or mapping out his next big journey, Joe brought his own distinct style, humor and infectious energy wherever he went. An adventurer at heart, he loved to travel and explore the world, always dreaming of the day he would finally visit Japan. He truly embraced life, appreciated the little things, and never missed an opportunity to make someone laugh. His quick wit, playful personality, and rare ability to bring a smile to anyone's face will be forever remembered by all who knew him.
But beyond the music, the sneakers, the sports, and the adventures was a man with an enormous heart. Joe had a special love for children, and one of his greatest joys was being an uncle to Anthony and Giuliana. He adored them both and treasured the laughter, jokes, and special moments they shared. They brought tremendous happiness to his life, and the love he had for them was endless. He will forever be a part of their lives through the memories they made, the laughter they shared and the unconditional love he leaves behind. They will always have their Uncle Joey in their hearts.
Joe will be forever missed by his beloved sister, Candida “Candy” Iannucci-Guay, her husband, Steve Guay, his nephew, Anthony Guay, and his niece, Giuliana Guay, as well as his extended family members and many dear friends.
Joe was more than a fan of the music — he was part of its spirit. He lived life loud, loved deeply, joked endlessly, and marched to the beat of his own drum.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 6 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation of Christ the King Parish, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s memory may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of New Britain online at https://www.bgclubnb.org/ The D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
"No Sleep Till Brooklyn" — but now it's time to rest.
The sneakers may be put away, the games may go on without you, and the music may have stopped playing here, but your beat will live in our hearts forever.
The music will play on, the memories will never fade, and the love you gave will live forever in the hearts of those who knew you. Rest easy, Joe. You'll always be one of a kind.
