Helen P. (Zimolag) Izabel, 96, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Born in Shelton on February 5, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Stanislaus and Helen (Lojek) Zimolag.
She married John F. (Gian) Greco on June 28, 1947 at the Church of St. Michael in Derby. Mom’s talents were endless. She was an excellent dancer, artist and seamstress. She loved going to many places to dance, including the Polish Club in Harford to dance the Polka, Cha-Cha, Rumba and many others! She was a fantastic artist – from freehand drawing and painting to crafts to coloring in later years. She knitted and crocheted and made us amazing clothes, even our doll clothes. Mom was also an excellent cook and baker – always a cake in the oven! She was a savvy business woman; owning and managing her own apartment buildings in the 1970’s.
