
Helen Mancuso, 91, widow of Anthony J. Mancuso, died Tuesday January 29, 2008 in Torrington. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late Raffaele and Giacinta (Mancini) Silvester, Helen was a life long resident of Wethersfield. She was employed for 22 years at Hartford Hospital in the cytology lab as a technician prior to her retirement in 1975. She was a member of the Church of the Incarnation in Wethersfield, Catholic Daughters of America and St. Theresa Guild. Helen also was a member of AFSCME and an avid golfer who held the distinction of making a hole-in-one. She was also a dedicated card player who very much enjoyed her time with her ?card playing crowd.? After her retirement she volunteered at Hartford Hospital for several years and also volunteered as a patient advocate for the State Department on Aging. She is survived by her three children, two sons, Joseph and his wife, Karla, of New York City and John and his wife, Judy of Wethersfield and a daughter, Elizabeth Germaine of Torrington; a sister, Angel Abajian of Fresno, CA; a sister-in-law, Carmela Aiello of Rhode Island, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral will be Saturday February 2, 2008 with the procession leaving at 11:00 AM from the D?Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at the Church of the Incarnation in Wethersfield. Burial will be in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield.
