Ida Sciucco

Ida (Marra) Sciucco, 79, of Hartford, beloved wife of Tommaso Sciucco passed away on June 19, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Ida was born on November 25, 1938 in Colli, Province of Frosinone, Italy, the daughter of the late Armando and Giovanna (Gioia) Marra. Ida worked for many years at Hartford Hospital in the Dietary Unit.

She enjoyed cooking and baking for her friends and family. Every holiday her entire family filled her home with laughter while enjoying the delicious meals she prepared. Ida did enjoy an occasional shopping trip but being the simple woman she was, she enjoyed being at home working in her garden and any time spent with her family and friends. She was truly a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her husband of 63 years, she leaves behind her beloved children, Sal Sciucco and his wife Angela of Middletown, Maria Zimei and her husband Al of Bolton and Anna Sierra of Newington, her beloved grandchildren, Melisa Preuss, Michael Zimei, Thomas Sciucco, Christina Sciucco, David Sciucco and Alexander Sierra and her great-grandchildren, Luke Preuss, Blake Preuss, Gia Preuss and Nicolas Zimei. She also leaves her sister Carla Marra and her husband Mimo Raponi of Italy. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Elio Marra and son-in-law Francisco Sierra.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 22nd at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Avenue, Hartford. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Entombment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, June 21st from 4-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield.
