Jacqueline Garrow 58, affectionately known as Jackie, of West Hartford, loving mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Hartford Hospital. Born September 21, 1962 in Birmingham, England, United Kingdom, Jackie was one of four daughters to Carmen (Brown) Garrow and the late Joseph Nathaniel Garrow.
The family relocated to St. Andrew, Jamaica West Indies where Jackie attended Oberlin High School. The family migrated to the United States in early 1960. Jackie attended The University of Hartford where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree.
Jackie was a very modest woman who enjoyed life, family, religion, and spending time in her garden. A devout Catholic, Jackie was a faithful Communicant of the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Hartford. She worked at St. Francis Hospital, Whiting Lane School, West Hartford, and Catholic Charity, Windsor.
Jackie will be sadly missed and dearly remembered by her loving family: two sons, Bryant Christie of Philadelphia, PA, and Jason Buchanan and wife Latoya of Windsor; grandson, Jaylin; mother, Carmen Garrow of Hartford; Aunt, Veta Christie of Hartford; three sisters, Dorothy Garrow of Windsor, Sonia (Garrow) Lewin and husband Liebert Lewin of East Hartford and Norma (Garrow) Bernaiche of Bristol; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 9-10am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Jacqueline’s life at 10am in Cathedral of St. Joseph, 140 Farmington Ave., Hartford.
Interment will follow at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield. Jackie’s funeral arrangements are entrusted to the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield.
