James “Jim” A. Zocco, 79, of Stuart, FL, beloved son of the late Mary (Ali) and Sebastian Zocco passed away peacefully on January 9, 2019. He was born and lived in Hartford and later East Hartford before moving to Stuart, FL. Jim graduated from Hartford Public High School and Indian River Community College of Florida. He proudly served in the Connecticut National Guard. Jim was self-employed, establishing Arts and Graphics in East Hartford. He enjoyed the outdoors, flying, sailing, bicycling and traveling, especially to Sicily. He took great joy in throwing parties and barbeques for family and friends, which everyone looked forward to. Jim is survived by his daughter and love of his life, Vincenza “Jamie” Zocco of Stuart, FL, his sister, Lucy Zocco of Newington; two sisters-in-law, Carol Zocco and Linda Zocco, and three generations of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Chester Zocco, Carmen Zocco, Paul Zocco and Joseph Zocco. Jim will always be remembered for his zest for life and his bright smile that we all will miss so much.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday (February 5) at 11 a.m. at St. Josephine Bakhita Parish at St. James Church, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hour will be at the church for one hour prior to the Mass, from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mercy by the Sea, 167 Neck Road, Madison, CT 06443.
