Janice D. Rouse, 95, of Rocky Hill, CT, formerly of Wethersfield, the beloved wife of the late Richard G. Rouse, passed away on September 24, 2026. Born in 1931 in Stratford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Marjorie (Eisloeffel Hill) and Ralph T. Davis. She attended school in Stratford, CT graduating as valedictorian of the Class of 1949. She then attended UConn where she met and soon married her husband, Richard, in 1951. They were married for 63 years. After marrying, they moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, returning to Wethersfield in 1953, where they raised four children. After their children were of school age, Janice enrolled in Central Connecticut State University, graduating in 1969. Janice then taught mathematics at Kellogg Middle School in Newington, CT. In 1979, Janice took the position of assistant to the Director of Finance, Wethersfield. Prior to her retirement in 1992, she became Assistant Finance Director for the town and served as acting Director of Finance during her last year of employment. Janice was a member of Trinity Parish, Wethersfield. She served as Treasurer for seven years and was an active member of the Altar Guild and ECW. She was a member of the DAR and former treasurer of the Ellsworth House in Windsor, CT. Janice is survived by her children and their spouses, Deborah (Eric) Haeseler, Sharon (David) Forrest, Elizabeth (Andrew) Tripp, and Richard D. (Linda) Rouse. She also leaves four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Janice was predeceased by her husband Richard, grandsons Kurt Haeseler and Ronald Taylor, Jr., brothers Ralph and Roger Davis, and sisters Laurel Davis and Lois Waller. Services to be held at Trinity Church on Thursday, October 1 at 11am, followed by burial in the Village Cemetery in Wethersfield.
