

Jay C. Amoruso, 50, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Jane (Davol) Amoruso, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, (August 13, 2011). Born on April 17, 1961 in Hartford, he was the son of Rita (Fournier) Amoruso of Wethersfield and the late Joseph Amoruso. Jay had a passion for real estate investment and was a real estate broker with RE/MAX Precision Realty in Newington for over 20 years. He was a member of the National Association of Realtors, a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), and a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM). He served on the arbitration committee for the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors. Jay was a member of the EDIC of Wethersfield and also belonged to the Newington Downtown Business Association. He was a faithful communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Wethersfield, where he served on the Parish Finance Committee. He was an avid sailor and loved spending time on the water. Jay aspired to living a simple life surrounded by those he cherished. Including Jane, his wife of 12 years, and his mother, Jay is survived by his two adored daughters who were the light of his life, Rachael and Grace Amoruso, both at home in Wethersfield; his brother Michael Amoruso and wife Donna Bristol and his sister, Nancy Knapp and husband Don all of Wethersfield, as well as a loving extended family and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday (August 19) at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 56 Hartford Ave., Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
