Jean A. (Lattarulo) Betz

Jean A. (Lattarulo) Betz, 87, of Wethersfield, loving wife of John M. Betz for 64 years, died peacefully, Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Glastonbury Health Care Center. She was born October 10, 1927 in Hartford and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Sylvia (Canino) Lattarulo. She was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, class of 1946. In her younger years, Jean was employed by the former Morley, Watson & Baldwin Insurance Company. Prior to her retirement, Jean worked at Comstock Ferre & Co. in the seed packing and ordering division. She was a longtime, faithful communicant of St. Luke Church, Hartford. Some of her happiest times were spent during summers at the seashore with her “Beach Bum” friends. Jean was an accomplished cook, who through her gift of food, brought joy and comfort to her family and friends, with four generations of our family sharing this blessing. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. Besides her husband John, she is survived by her two sons, John A. Betz and wife Tammi of Colchester and Joseph G. Betz and wife Clare of Hebron; seven adored grandchildren, John, Maryrose, Jordan, Gina, Joseph, Mia and Emily Betz; her sister-in-law, Alice Blackburn of CA; two special nieces, Lynda and Carol; a special nephew, Thomas, as well as several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and their wives, Armand M. and Sarina Lattarulo and Andrew and Lee Lattarula. A very special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Glastonbury Health Care Center for the care, love and compassion shown to Jean and her family.

Calling hours are Saturday from 8:30-10:15 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Church, Hartford.
