
Jeanne (Santoro) Cassarino, 92, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Paul J. Cassarino, died peacefully on Friday (December 15, 2006), after a brief illness. The daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Pizzutti) Santoro, she was born December 4, 1914 at her parent's Hartford apartment. Jeanne attended the Brown School and lived in the Front Street neighborhood until she and Paul moved to Wethersfield in 1945. She was employed by Colts during World War II and also worked for Brown Thompson's before joining the Travelers Insurance Company where she worked until her retirement in 1975. Active in the Travelers Women's Club she also served as an officer of the Travelers Retirees Club, where she helped start a weekly exercise program for seniors. Jeanne is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Judith Cassarino of Wethersfield, and her ""precious"" grandchildren David Cassarino of South Windsor, Andrea Cassarino of Brighton, MA and John Cassarino of Wethersfield, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends, especially Terry Evans and Ester Lerner. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her siblings Rose, Joseph, Francis, Anthony, John and Raymond Santoro. A loving mother, beloved grandmother and caring friend, she will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will leave Monday, December 18th at 10:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. for an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Monday from 9:15-10:15 a.m. at the funeral chapel.
