

John “Jack” Michael Burns, 76, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Patricia N. Burns peacefully passed away, while holding his family's hands in his final hours, Monday, February 5, 2024, in Hartford Hospital. Born February 7, 1947, son to the late Jack Joseph Burns and Virginia Marie (Sikora) Burns, of Chicago, IL. Jack was born in Altadena, CA, and was raised in Lombard, IL, graduating from Glenbard East High School in 1965. Jack went on to pursue a degree in business, graduating from Illinois State University.
Jack and Pat attended the same high school, meeting years later and married November 29, 1974. They were hopeful to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this fall. They settled in Wethersfield, soon after their wedding. Jack was passionate about helping families improve their financial situation and worked for Primerica Financial Services, educating families on the value of life insurance. Jack’s daughters and grandchildren were the loves of his life.
Jack leaves his daughters, Natalie E. Bryant and beloved son-in-law Eric, of Wethersfield and Melissa C. New and beloved son-in-law Jean-Wesley, of Cheshire. Known as “Bop” to his grandchildren: Wyatt, Elijah, Micah, Levi and Jack-Wesley. Jack also leaves his sisters, Barbara Burns and Toby Burton, of Chicago, IL, Maureen and Bob Goldsbury, and family, of Evergreen Park, IL. Jack was a kind, caring, loving, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed.
