John W. Casey

John W. Casey of Wethersfield, Connecticut died April 26, 2016 at Hartford Hospital with his family by his side. John was born on December 18, 1949 to Paul and Frances Casey of Bristol, Connecticut. He graduated from Harvard College and the University Of Connecticut School Of Law. After working as a lawyer for United Technologies for 22 years, he changed his focus and became an at-home dad to his three young daughters. John was simply a nice man with an unending ability to understand and respond to the needs and desires of his family. Beyond his family, he supported numerous political causes and charities including the Kiva Microfunds program. He will be greatly missed. He leaves his wife, Jane M. Bright; his three daughters, Elizabeth Casey, Susan Casey and Maureen Casey; his granddaughter, Audrey Carpino; his brother, Stephen Casey and Stephen's wife, Helen Hanna Casey of Pittsburgh Pa, their daughter Annie Engel, her husband, Gus Engel and their three children; his sister Mary Ellen Casey; his sister in law, Deborah Schindler and brother in law, Al Schindler; his brother in law, Dennis McHugh; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in John's honor on Saturday, April 30 at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield, from 12PM to 2PM.
