

John Joseph DeBella, 59 of Hartford died suddenly Wednesday (September 22, 2010). Born in Hartford he was the oldest surviving child of the late Joseph J. and Thelma (Hann) DeBella. John was a kind hearted man that loved and cherished life. He enjoyed and loved his family, appreciated home cooked meals, had a great ear for oldies music, and loved the shore. He was an alter boy at St. Peters Church and remained a devoted Catholic throughout his life. He is survived by his daughter Karly Ann of Wethersfield, and nine siblings and their spouses, Leslie George and Ruth DeBella of California, Robert Francis and Theresa DeBella of Newington, Janice Elaine DeBella of Windsor, Barbara Jean DeBella Vasquez of Windsor, Russell Joseph and Annette DeBella of Ellington, Mark Steven DeBella of Maine, Ralph Conrad and Susan DeBella of Vernon, Theron Caleb DeBella of Tolland, Joseph John Jr. and Gaetana DeBella of Meriden; 12 nephews and six nieces; 2 great nephews and two great nieces. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Doreen A. (Vendetta) DeBella. The immediate family will convene privately on Thursday to celebrate John's life. The funeral is Friday, October 1st with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peters Church, 160 Main St., Hartford. Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
