Dr. John F. Dupont, Jr.

Dr. John “Jack” F. DuPont, Jr., 83, of Glastonbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 31, 2024. Jack was born in Hartford on June 11, 1940 to the late John F. DuPont, Sr. and Jean (Duguay) DuPont and was raised in Hartford and Wethersfield. He attended St. Anne’s Grammar School and graduated from Bulkeley High School in Hartford. He attended the University of Connecticut before graduating Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University School of Dentistry. Upon graduating, Jack fulfilled his internship and residency training at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. After returning home to Connecticut, he began his Oral Surgery practice in Rocky Hill. Later in his career, Jack worked for the CT Department of Corrections providing oral surgery services to correctional facilities throughout the state.

Jack had a passion for travel. He favored cruises to Alaska and skiing the in the Alps or the mountains of Vermont. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and UConn men’s and women’s basketball. Jack also had a lifelong love of animals, especially Georgie Girl, Toby, Stacey, Pumpkin, Michelob and Morgan.

In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his partner in life, David Ezyk and a brother-in-law, Joseph Cantin. He leaves behind a sister, Janet Cantin of Manchester; a brother, James DuPont and wife Andrea of Chatham, MA; three nieces, Michele Barry, Kristen Dwyer and Danielle Barnes; four nephews, Joe Cantin, Jeffery Cantin, Mark Cantin and Jamie DuPont, as well as eleven grand-nieces and nine grand-nephews. Jack will also be missed by his dependable close friends, Dale Smith, Jack Moriarty and Jim Salafia.

Calling hours will be Saturday, April 27 from 10-11:30 a.m. concluding with a Prayer Service at 11:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, 368 Broad Street, Manchester. Donations in Jack’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
