

John Francis Fitzpatrick, 76, of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 33 years of Jean M. (Carosella) Fitzpatrick, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford on July 29, 1949, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary (Kivney) Fitzpatrick. John graduated from South Catholic High School, class of 1968 and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in History from CCSU. He worked for Travelers Insurance Company for many years, retiring in 2009. After his retirement, John began working as a school crossing guard for the town of Wethersfield. He truly enjoyed this role and was deeply committed to maintaining the children's safety. John was a member of the Wethersfield Men’s Garden Club, a longtime fan of the New York Yankees and UConn Huskies, and an avid golfer. John was also a runner and completed five marathons.
In addition to his loving wife Jean, John will be forever missed by his brother, Thomas Fitzpatrick and wife Diane of Wethersfield, their daughters, Maggie and Alison Fitzpatrick and his sister-in-law, Linda Carosella of Waterbury as well as many extended family members and friends.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, September 30 from 9:30-11 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Burial will be in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield.
