John J. Nesko

John J. Nesko, 81, of Cromwell, beloved husband for 42 years of Janet Mae (Sandulli) Nesko, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Born in Hartford on February 16, 1945, he was the son of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Maradie) Nesko. John was a graduate of Wethersfield High School. He worked as an IT Specialist at Aetna and CIGNA, retiring in 2012. John was an avid golfer and was a fan of horse racing and the former Hartford Jai Alai. He bowled in the Hartford Meadow Lane Bowling League for many years.

In addition to his devoted wife Janet Mae, John will be forever missed by his daughters, Maria Plourd and husband Mark of Portland, Cheryl Nesko of Norwich and Marin Sweeney of FL; six adored grandchildren, Gabrielle and Jacob Nesko, Weston and Mariela Plourd; and Paige and Makenzie Sweeney and his great-granddaughter, Raelyn Graichen. He is also survived by his brother, Paul Nesko of Wethersfield, as well as many extended family members and friends. John was sadly predeceased by his beloved son, William Nesko and his brother, Stephen Nesko.

The family wishes to acknowledge John’s second cousin, Melissa Reynolds, whose support and care was greatly appreciated.

Calling hours will be Friday, June 19 from 10-11 a.m. concluding with a Prayer Service at 11 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Burial will be private.
