Jose Antonio "Tony" Fernandez

Jose Antonio ‘Tony’ Fernandez, 62, of New Britain, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain Campus. Tony was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and was the son of the late Felix Fernandez Diaz and Onelia Ruiz. For many years he worked in the tobacco field for H F Brown in Windsor, CT Tony enjoyed music, dancing, laughing, sports and visiting "La Parke Street". He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. And will be remembered for his laughter and good sense of humor. Tony is survived and will be dearly missed by his children: Norma ‘Prieta’ Rodriguez, Edwin ‘Pichy’ Rodriguez, Jose Antonio ‘Bebe’ Fernandez Jr., and Isamar 'Isa' Fernandez, his brothers; Felix ‘Jun’ Fernandez, Reimundo ‘Rey’ Fernandez, and Felix ‘Noel’ Fernandez, his sisters; Maria ‘Mady’ Fernandez-Rivera, Rosa ‘Rosin’ Fernandez, Olga ‘Oly’ Fernandez, Yolanda ‘Gongui’ Fernandez, Esmeralda Rosa and 10 other brothers and sisters; 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Tony was also predeceased by; Felix Fernandez Diaz and Onelia Ruiz. A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 10:00a.m. – 12:30p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield, CT Please feel free to leave a special tribute for the family online.
