

Joseph P. Agostino of South Windsor, formerly of Hartford, entered into eternal life on Saturday (September 8, 2012) at the age of 95. Joseph was born in Hartford on April 22, 1917, son of the late Sebastian and Lucy (DiPietro) Agostino. He was the beloved husband of the late Nancy (Frank) Agostino. Joseph was predeceased by his brothers, Santo and Salvatore. He was an avid sports fan, and played football for Hartford High School, and semi-professional football for the Wylie Rangers. He was employed by G. Fox and Company as a furniture refinisher for 38 years, and taught furniture refinishing in a work rehabilitation program in his retirement. Joseph was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served during WWII. He loved being with his family and grandchildren. Joseph is survived by his sons, Sebastian Agostino and his wife Susan of South Windsor; Anthony Agostino and his wife Arija of Glastonbury; his daughter, GraceAnn Shebazian and her husband Joseph of South Windsor; and his loving grandchildren, Elizabeth and Thomas Agostino and AnnMarie, Angela and Andrea Shabazian.
Funeral Services will begin Friday (September 14) at 9 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, 494 New Britain Ave., Hartford. The burial, with military honors, will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
