

Joseph S. Boscarino, 88, of Wethersfield, joined his wife, Doris, of 62 years, in eternity April 7, 2012. Joe was born July 10, 1923 in Hartford and was the son of the late Concetta and Sebastian Boscarino. He was a World War II, US Army veteran. Joe learned how to play the saxophone at the age of 12 and continued his musical career throughout his life. He worked for the Landerman Agency playing his sax, flute and clarinet. Joe also taught many students at the Windsor Music Studio and the Music and Arts Center in East Hartford. He served as President of the Musician's Union, Local 400 and remained an active member. He was a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service, retiring after 45 years of dedicated service. Joe was a longtime faithful communicant and collector at the Church of the Incarnation, Wethersfield. Besides his wife, Doris (Viotto) Boscarino he was predeceased by his brother, Anthony ""Tony"" Boscarino and sister, Sally Vaughn. He is survived by his son, Thomas Boscarino and wife, Julie of Glastonbury, his daughter, Laura McCormack and husband, Fran of the Villages, FL; his grandson, Joseph C. Santaniello and wife, Jamie of Newington; and a brother, Gino Boscarino and wife, Nellie of Cano, Puerto Rico; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Wednesday (April 11) at 10:30 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Calling hours are Wednesday morning prior to the Mass from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral chapel.
