

Joseph A. Preira, AKA ""Joe the Plumber"", 64, passed away Monday, (October 17, 2011) with his family and friends by his side in Waterbury. Joseph was born October 6, 1947 in Meriden to the late Dominic and Jenny (Viele) Preira. Joseph was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a licensed plumber who owned and operated his own business. Joseph was an avid golfer and a Harley Davidson enthusiast. When not golfing or riding his Harley, Joseph was often found meeting with the many friends of ""Bill"" throughout the state, helping others with their addictions. Joseph dedicated much of his life helping others as he was helped over 20 years ago. Joseph was a beloved father to his two children, Dominic Goguen and Jennifer McKenna as well as a doting grandfather to his grandchildren, Courtney Kendig, Colin Goguen, Sophie Cipolla and Tyson Goguen. He is also survived his brothers, Wayne Preira, Anthony and Albert Romano and his sister Deborah Piper. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Dominic Jr.
Calling hours are Saturday, October 22, 2011 at theD'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield from 12-2 p.m. with a service immediately following. A private celebration of Joe's life will follow at Stanley Golf Course Club House, 245 Hartford Road, New Britain.
