

Joseph Mancini, 67, of Wethersfield, beloved husband and best friend for 41 years of marriage to Annmarie (Ferrantino) Mancini passed away peacefully on February 2, 2018 after a long battle with Leukemia and Lymphoma with his loving family by his side along with his two fur babies, Jeter and Piper. Joseph was born in Hartford on December 21, 1950 and was the son of the late Lupo and Maria Concetta (Fusco) Mancini. Joseph was honorably discharged with the rank of Sargent from the US Army having served in the Delta Company 1/501st Infantry 101st Airborne Division in the Vietnam War. He will greatly miss his Delta brothers. He loved each and everyone of you. You truly were his brothers forever. Thank you Ed Santore and Dennis Jones for bringing all of them together at the first reunion. Joe always thought of that as his homecoming. It changed his perspective on life. Joseph worked as a Senior Construction Inspector for the Metropolitan District for over 37 years. He was a member of the Elks Club of Rocky Hill, Mt. Carmel-St. Cristina Society, and The Moose Club. Joseph was an avid New York Yankees fan as well as a Dallas Cowboys fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Joseph left a mark on all the lives he touched. He filled our hearts with happiness and laughter. He was our hero, biggest fan, and best friend. His zest for life was endless. In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by three brothers and three sisters, Michael and Karen Mancini of Glastonbury, John Mancini of Wethersfield, Maria and Bill Iberti of Sebastopol, CA, Phyllis and Ric Baluyot of Hayward, CA, Tony Mancini of Wethersfield, and Teresa and Guy Tommasi of Middletown. He is also survived by his inlaws. His father-in-law and mother-in-law Frank Ferrantino and Mildred Ferrantino. His brother-in-law Frank and Cindi Ferrantino of Newington, and a sister-in-law Lisa Laurito and John Fradianni of Wethersfield. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Michael Mancini and wife Lorena, their two children Carina and Samantha, Denise Abbatemarco and husband Danny, their three children Hailey, Luc, and Max, Guilia Iberti, Anthony Baluyot, Natalie Baluyot, Michelle Gaddis and husband Matt, their two children Baylee and Matilyn, Jason Laurito and wife Megan, their two children Cody and Eve, and Teresa Laurito and fiance Ryan Shea. He also leaves very best friends Steven and Anne Ambrose and Paul “Zack” Zachorewitz. His Zia Carmela of Waterbury and many other relatives and friends. Joe will be sorely missed by all us. He surely lit up a room. Joe I will love you forever. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday February 5, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Funeral Services for Joseph will begin at 10:00 am Tuesday February 6, 2018 with a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield followed by a full military honors burial at Village Cemetery, Main Street, Wethersfield.
