

Joseph Pasquaretta, 78, of Niantic and Wethersfield, beloved husband for 53 years of Paula (Bordonaro) Pasquaretta, died (Friday June 22, 2012) at L&M Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born March 19, 1934 in Hartford, he was the son of the late Emanuel and Millie (Morlino) Pasquaretta and lived most of his life in Wethersfield and Niantic. He was a life member of the Elks for 43 years. After retiring from the Aetna and moving to Niantic he worked for 10 years at UBS Niantic. He loved his family and enjoyed his sports, especially the Yankees. He also enjoyed his garden, his fig tree and his Florida vacations. He loved going out for breakfast at the Shack almost every Sunday, and going to his favorite restaurant, The Recovery Room. He also enjoyed going for coffee with his buddy Tim, and lunches with his friend Gunars. Besides his wife Paula, he leaves his sons, Joseph J. Pasquaretta and his wife Lisa and Michael J. Pasquaretta and his fiancée Joanne; his grandchildren, Joshua Pasquaretta, Jonathan Pasquaretta and his wife Toni, Kristina Pasquaretta, Alyssa and Ryan Couture, and a great grandson, Noah. He also leaves his brother, Manny Pasquaretta and his wife Rita; his brother-in-law, Peter Bordonaro and his wife Katy; a sister-in-law, Cynthia Bordonaro, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Canio Pasquaretta; his sister, Ida and her husband Ralph Mazzarella; his sister, Lee and her husband Henry Zotti; a nephew, Lee Pasquaretta; his brother-in-law, Michael Bordonaro and a special cousin, Carol Boland Sipala. Joseph's family would like to thank the medical staff of the CCU at L&M Hospital for their wonderful care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday (June 29) at 11 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
