

Joseph Santoro, Sr., 73, of Wethersfield formerly of Chester Street, Harford, loving husband of Arlene (Baj) Santoro, died peacefully, Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. He was born September 7, 1942 in Canicattini Bagni, province of Sircusa, Sicily and was the son of the late Paolo and Maria (Cassarino) Santoro. Joe owned and operated the D&S Market on South Street in Hartford for 16 years later being employed by the Durham School Services. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Paul Santoro and his fiancée, Kelly Daniels and Joseph Santoro, Jr., a daughter, Maria Pirulli, step-sons, Richard, Steven and Dean DeDominicis and step-daughter, Michelle Mikoleit as well as 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Santina (DiMauro) Santoro, step-son, Robert DeDominicis and brothers, Sebastiano and Giovanni and a sister, Sebastiana Santoro. Funeral service will be Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Church, 66 Bolton Street, Hartford.
