Joseph D. Urso

Joseph D. Urso, 67, of Ellington, died peacefully, Monday (September 1, 2008), at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Hartford and was the son of the late Frank J. and Mary (Stavola) Urso. Joseph was a printer and worked at the Ames Corporation, the former Sage-Allen Stores and more recently Mohawk Printing Co. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, a loyal New York Yankees fan and a member of the Young Italians, Hartford. He is survived by a son, Gary D. Urso and his wife, Wendy of Granby, three grandchildren; Rebecca, Gary Jr., and Aaron Urso. He also leaves behind cousins, James F. Stavola of Colchester, Frank J. Stavola of Berlin, Thomas Urso of Florida, Carolyn Stavola and James R. Stavola, both of Somers, Mary Carol McBride of Arlington, VA, Gina Dan of Arvada, CO as well as second cousins, John Stavola of Berlin, Michael Stavola of Los Angeles, CA, Jody Mansfield of Coventry, Thomas Urso, Jr. and Gary Raines, both of Denver, CO, Linda Thore of Enfield and Gregory Raines. Calling hours are Monday, September 8, from 6-8 p.m., at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield. The funeral and burial will be private.
