

>Josephine A. (Amenta) Cianci, 89, of Hartford, loving and devoted wife for 68 years of Joseph A. Cianci, Sr., passed away peacefully on Monday, (July 3, 2006) at the Hebrew Home and Hospital. She was born in Hartford and was a lifelong resident. Josephine was a seamstress for the former G. Fox and Co. and was a skillful sewer. She crocheted blankets for everyone in her family. She also enjoyed traveling and just being with her family. Josephine was a member of the Young Italian Ladies Auxiliary, South End Seniors and a long time communicant of St. Lawrence O'Toole Church. A wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother she leaves besides her husband, Joe; two daughters and a son, Concetta ""Connie"" Lewis and her husband, Arthur of Old Lyme, Linda P. Cianci of Hartford and Joseph A. Cianci, Jr. and his wife, Nancy of Ellington; grandchildren, Concetta Griffith, David Lewis and his wife, Kim, Kristin Richard and Christopher Cianci; great grandchildren, Anthony, Victoria, Elizabeth, Emery, Michael, and Elliott; as well as many nieces and nephews and a host of dear and close friends. She was predeceased by a brother, Sebastian Amenta; a sister, Mary Ciarcia and a sister-in-law, Frances Amenta. A special thank you to niece, Connie Scata and nephews, Sal Amenta, Dr. Paul Cianci and Ralph Cianci, Jr. Josephine's family would like to thank the entire staff of the Hebrew Home and Hospital for all the loving care and kindness shown to her, and a very special thank you to Dr. Thomas O'Connor for all his personal attention and dedicated care. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 a.m. in St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, Hartford. The burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Funeral Chapel.
