Josephine Spano Reniewicz (Fontana)

Josephine (Fontana) Spano Reniewicz, 96, of Saint Augustine, FL, formerly of Newington, wife of the late Henry Reniewicz, died Saturday (March 31, 2012) in St. Augustine. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Vito and Minnie (Bruno) Fontana and lived in Newington for most of her life before moving to Saint Augustine. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at the Traveler's Insurance Company. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and William Volk of St. Augustine; her brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Eleanor Fontana of Newington; her sister and brother-in-law, Roseann and Donald DeMar of Colchester; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her first husband, Victor Spano, her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Reid Oslund and her sister, Pat Hiegel.

The funeral is Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 626 Willard Ave., Newington. Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday morning from 8:15-9:15 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel.
