Juan Aguilera Gutierrez “Papa Juan”, 74, of Hartford, beloved husband of Maria Eva Mercado, passed away on February 22, 2021, after a brief illness. Juan was born on February 8, 1947 in Bolivia; he is the son of the late Arsenio Flores and Isabel Aguilera Gutierrez.
Growing up in Bolivia, he truly appreciated the beauty the land had to offer. He was a gifted farmer, able to grow bountiful gardens filled with delicious vegetables; he could always be found tending to his livestock. Juan’s family lived very close and he was able to share with them the fruits of his labor. They truly lived “farm to table”. In 2016, he and Maria decided to come to the United States so they could be with their daughter and son-in-law, finally meeting their grandsons. While in the U.S. Juan worked in manufacturing. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his family and relatives.
In addition to his wife of almost 50 years of marriage, he leaves his children, Vivian M. Aguilera and her husband Ismael of Bolivia, Luis Fernando Aguilera and his wife Alsacia of Bolivia, Eva Duhamel and her husband Jeffrey of Hartford, Linsey J. Aguilera and her husband Lider of Bolivia and Juan Daniel Aguilera and his wife Candy of Bolivia. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Vanessa, Ivan R., Junior, Gabriel, Juliana, Fabiana, Michael, Joseph, Alana, Adriana, Ivan D, Jeremy and Thais. Juan leaves his siblings, Josefa Flores, Arminda Flores, Herminia Flores, Betty Flores, Sandra Flores, Rolando Flores, Vidal Flores and Walter Flores. Furthermore, he leaves many relatives and folk friends in Bolivia and the U.S. A wonderful husband, father and grandfather, he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Along with his parents, his brother, Arnulfo Flores, predeceased Juan.

Juan deja a sus hermanos, Arnulfo Flores (+), Josefa Flores, Arminda Flores, Herminia Flores, Betty Flores, Sandra Flores, Rolando Flores, Vidal Flores y Walter Flores. Además, deja a muchos parientes y amigos populares en Bolivia y los Estados Unidos. Un esposo, padre y abuelo maravilloso, todos los que lo conocieron lo extrañarán profundamente.
