

Judith Ann Braga, 82, of Farmington, formerly of Canton, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025. Born on January 11, 1943, in Hartford, she was the only daughter of the late Albert J. and Frances “Sally” (Regish) Braga of Canton. Judith was a graduate of Mt. Joseph Academy, West Hartford and Bay Path College, East Longmeadow, MA. Judy worked at her parents’ restaurant, Judy’s in Canton prior to being employed as an executive secretary at CIGNA Investments (formerly CT General Life Insurance Company) of Bloomfield for almost 40 years. A student of dance since age three, Judy studies with the late Norman Flynt and vaudevillian Val Reno, the former Hartford School of Ballet, Joseph Albano, the Hartford Conservatory, the former West Hartford School of Music, Hartt School of Dance, David Bouchard of Fred Astaire Studios and George Siminski at Steps in Time, Canton and with him independently. Judith enjoyed ballroom dance competitions and performances. She was recognized with many first-place achievements over the years. She was privileged to enjoy private coaching sessions in competitive ballroom dancing with former champions John Swick, Ginette Cournoyer, Ian Folker, Bill Davies, Rufus Dustin and the late Roy Mavor.
Judith is survived by her cousins, Nancy (Keough) Almeida Crocker of Waterford, Donna Keough of South Carolina and George Keough of Mississippi and many friends, especially her beloved cats, “Whiskers” and “Abby” with fond memories of her late special kitty “Pixie”.
A service for Judith will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, One Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery office at 10:15 to process together. Memorial donations in Judith’s name can be made to the charity of their choice.
