

Julie Elizabeth (Giachello) Longo, 89, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife of the late Thomas F. Longo, died Friday (October 26, 2012) at Maple View Manor, Rocky Hill. Born in Hartford, on July 14, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Innocenzio and Maria (Schettino) Giachello. She was employed as an Underwriter at Travelers and Aetna retiring after 45 years of service. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, nothing gave her more joy than spending time with her family. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Genevieve DiMascio and her husband Anthony of Rocky Hill; three adored grandchildren, Michael DiMascio and his wife Alessandra, Matthew DiMascio and his wife Jackie and Marissa Violette and her husband Mark; and four cherished great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Victoria DiMascio and Julianna and Dominick Thomas Violette. She was predeceased by a brother Anthony Giachello and a sister Rose Calbi. Julie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all the aides, nurses and staff at Maple View Manor in Rocky Hill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held next Saturday (November 3) at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, 285 Church St., Hartford. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial will be at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours will be held tomorrow, Sunday (October 28) from 3-6 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
