

Kathryn “Kay” Bukowski, beloved wife of the late Walter Bukowski, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at the age of 102. She was born September 22, 1915 in Hartford and was the daughter of the late Francesco and Lucia Annelli. She lived most of her life in Hartford and Wethersfield. Kay was a graduate of Bulkeley High School, class of 1934. Kay was an avid sports fan-she especially liked cheering for the Yankees and the UConn men’s and women’s basketball teams. She always enjoyed attending all her grandchildren’s sporting events. Most of all, she loved spending the holidays with family. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Kay is survived by her three children, Carol Ann DiPietro and husband Italo, Richard Bukowski and wife Helen, all of Wethersfield and Robert Bukowski and wife Julie of Rocky Hill; five adored grandchildren, Christopher Rowlins and wife Erin, Elizabeth Gadomski and husband John, Jason Bukowski and wife Pam, Keith Bukowski and wife Beth, and Kevin Bukowski; ten cherished great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, especially her three devoted nieces, Elizabeth Russell, Lorraine Cloutier and Sue Annelli. She was predeceased by five brothers, Nicholas, Gerard, Anthony, Frank and James Annelli and her grandson, Michael Rogers. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Maple View Manor for their compassion and support.
Calling hours are Friday from 8:45-10:15 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. The burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kay’s memory may be made to the Wethersfield Volunteer Ambulance Association, 206 Prospect St., Wethersfield, CT 06109.
