Kenneth Matthew Johnson

Kenneth Matthew Johnson, 67, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Patricia (Smith) Johnson for over 44 years, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Kenny was born on October 11, 1949 in DeWitt, IA the son of the late Rita Crouse. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy serving during the Vietnam War. Kenny was employed at Gerber Scientific in South Windsor for many years. In addition to his wife, Kenny is survived by his two daughters Michelle Byers and her husband Chris of Troutman, NC and Kelly Johnson and her fiancé Jose Rivera of Hartford. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren; Alyssa, Jayden, Adriana, Jacob, Rylee and Kenzie. Kenny was predeceased by his son Kenneth John Johnson and his sister Judy Rector. The Johnson family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Patrick Troy and all the nurses and hospice staff at Hartford Hospital for their care and compassion. Funeral services followed by military honors will be held on Saturday March 4, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Calling hours will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will be private.
