Kimberly Ann (chandler) Ploss

Kimberly Ann (Chandler) Ploss, 36, of Moodus, formerly of Wethersfield, died unexpectedly on Tuesday (December 9, 2008). She was born on April 14, 1972, in Hartford. She is the beloved daughter of Scott B. and Janet (Vermette) Chandler of Wethersfield. Kim was a 1990 Wethersfield High School graduate with a GED. She worked for Middlesex Hospital as a PCT then went on to be a phlebotomist at Quest Diagnostics. Kim furthered her education at Capital Community College and became an RN. She worked for Backus Hospital as a cardiology nurse and then worked for Vitas Hospice Care of East Hartford. Kim was a compassionate and caring nurse to all of her patients. Besides her parents, Kim is survived by her husband, Peter J. Ploss of Moodus; her favorite aunt Sandra Traunig of Wethersfield, her aunts and uncles, 'Cousin' Mark Chandler, Jeff Chandler and his wife, Trice all of Wethersfield, Kevin Chandler and his wife, Holly of South Windsor, Reed Chandler and his wife, Lori of Wethersfield, and Bruce Vermette and his wife, Susan of Florida, as well as many cousins and dear friends. Kim was predeceased by her brother, Darryl Scott 'Bear' Chandler; her uncle Richard Traunig; her maternal grandparents, John and Mary (DiMauro) Vermette; paternal grandparents, Raymond F. and Mae (Meagler) Chandler; and her godchild Angelina Saehrig. Kim was also predeceased by her faithful canine companion, Sawyer. Calling hours will be Monday from 3-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, 2 p.m. at First Church of Christ, 250 Main Street, Wethersfield with the Rev. Dr. J. Jey Deifell, Jr. officiating.
