It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Laura (Seio) DeFrino, 91 of Rocky Hill, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Laura passed away peacefully, joining her beloved husband Nicholas DeFrino, who predeceased her in 2011. Born in Hartford on September 19, 1933, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Loponta) Seio. Laura built a life centered on family and hard work. In 1966, she and Nick opened Bliss Market in Wethersfield, a business that would become a local favorite for generations. Above all, Laura was proud of her family. Being a mom was most important to her, and everyone was welcomed in her home. She was a devoted mother to Paula, John, Chris, and Mary. She was adored by her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Laura was predeceased by her sisters, Rosie, Josephine, Mildred and her brother, Pasquale. Her greatest joy came from watching her family grow. Laura’s life was simple, rooted in love, loyalty and dedication. She will be missed by all her knew her. May she rest in peace and forever be remembered for the love she gave so freely. Laura greatly enjoyed her trips to the casino with her longtime friends and loved to read, especially mystery novels. She was also an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast.
