Laurie Anne (St. Amand) LaBrecque, 57, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of Todd LaBrecque for 25 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Born in Hartford on June 3, 1969, she was the loving daughter of David D. St. Amand and Ann Tatulli St. Amand.
Laurie graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1987. For 20 years, she was a fixture at WFSB, serving as a sales executive assistant and masterfully running the WFSB tent at the TPC Championship. A courageous breast cancer survivor, Laurie had a heart as big as her sense of style. Her shoe and handbags collections were legendary-legendary enough that you rarely saw her in the same pair of shoes twice!
She lived life with joyful enthusiasm: whether she was fostering rescue cats through Protectors of Animals in East Hartford, decorating for Christmas with her mother, or making her annual pilgrimage to the Big E (where getting a baked potato was a non-negotiable). She could quote every single line from Harry Potter, never missed an episode of Gilmore Girls, loved all things Disney, spent endless hours gossiping about the reality shows on Bravo with her best friend Stephanie, and treasured sunny days in Ipswich on Boston’s North Shore. Above all, Laurie will be remembered for her boundless kindness, huge heart, and infectious laugh.
In addition to her husband and parents, Laurie will be deeply missed by her two sisters, Dawn St. Amand and Michelle St. Amand; her brother-in-law, Troy LaBrecque and his wife, Gabi and their children, Weston and Colton and her best friend, Stephanie Turner-Bunting. She also leaves behind her adored cats, Pinot and Izzy, as well as her “puppy niece and nephew” Kota and Gatsby and “kitty niece” Lucy.
Funeral services will be private. Donations in Laurie’s memory may be made to Protectors of Animals at https://poainc.org/
The D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield has been entrusted with the arrangements.
