Licia (Mastrangoli) Pizzoferrato, 93, of Rocky Hill, widow of the late Ermondo Pizzoferrato, entered into eternal life on October 9, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Melfi, Province of Potenza, Italy on December 19, 1932, daughter of the late Antonio Mastrangoli and Linda (Puglielli) Mastrangoli. Licia spent the first four years of her life in Melfi, Italy, before moving with her family to Pratola Peligna in the Province of L’Aquila. On December 21, 1953, she immigrated to the United States to join her husband and begin their life together in Hartford. There, they built their family and made their home for 25 years before settling in Rocky Hill, where Licia spent the next 47 years.
Licia worked at Wiremold of West Hartford as an assembly operator for 25 years. At Wiremold, she made many long-lasting friendships. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Nonna. Her love was endless when spending time with her family. Her passion was her garden, along with cooking and baking.
Licia will be deeply missed by her family, son, Pino Pizzoferrato and his wife Susan of Windsor; two daughters, Emily (Pizzoferrato) Lanteri and her husband Vincenzo “Sal” of Rocky Hill and Linda (Pizzoferrato) Mack and her husband Peter of Rocky Hill; six grandchildren, Tina Lengyel and her husband Bob of East Granby, Lisa Buckle of Windsor Locks, Jason Pizzoferrato and his wife Jill of Barkhamsted, Diana Rozum and her husband Paul III of Cromwell, Joseph Mack and his wife Michelle of Wolcott and Pamela Matway and her husband Jason of Rocky Hill and thirteen great-grandchildren, Kayla, Alyssa, Jaydon, Deven, Jacob, Ty, Paul IV, Christian, Evan, Lucas, Cora, Brennan and Dylan. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Dina Pizzoferrato. She was predeceased by three brothers, Mario, Gino and Vinicio and a granddaughter, Kristina Lanteri.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, October 16, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 17, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Church of St. Josephine Bakhita Parish, 280 Brook Street, Rocky Hill. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Rocky Hill.
