Lois Hetu, 79, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully at home on 1/23/23 surrounded by loved ones after a long illness. Lois was born on 9/13/43 in the city of Hartford. After Lois graduated from Weaver High School, she pursued multiple passions including being a wife, mother and homemaker. Lois married her High School Sweetheart, Robert Hetu, and went on to have two children, Diane Martin and Robert Hetu. Her passion for her family was certainly felt by all. Lois enjoyed being by the seaside, especially Newport, Rhode Island, and Martha’s Vineyard, as well as camping with her daughter and grandchildren.
Lois was predeceased by her parents, Claire and George Muzzy, her brothers George Muzzy, Leonard Muzzy, and Bob Muzzy, her sister Linda Poulin, and her Son-In-Law Francis Martin. She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Hetu. She is also survived by her daughter Diane Martin of Wethersfield, her son Robert Hetu and his wife Cindy Hetu of Berlin, her grandchildren Aubrey Poisson, Zachary Martin, Caleigh Martin, Zachary Edwards, David Edwards, Aleah Ellis, and Jordan Hetu, and her great-granddaughter Lexi Ellis, and Lois’s siblings Cindy Levesque, Gail Levesque, and Carol Trojanowski.
The Family would also like to add a special thank you for all of the fantastic care provided by the private caregivers that have become like family and Trinity Hospice of Connecticut.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Double Dog Rescue, as Lois had a passion for animals.
