Lori E. Lawler

Lori E. (Gooding) Lawler, 67, of Willington, loving partner for 21 years of Dave Murphy, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Born in Wilmington, DE on October 27, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Charles Pennypacker Gooding, Jr. and Alyce (Ford) Gooding. Lori graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Delaware. She was the Director of Sales for the Eastern Region of Haynes International, where she worked from 1986-2025. Lori loved to cook and shop for antiques and she cherished time spent with friends and family.

In addition to her partner Dave Murphy, Lori will be forever missed by her son, Michael Lawler and partner Joshua Lamont of Warwick, RI; her brother, Chuck Gooding and wife Amy of Milton, DE and her sister, Linda Kok and husband Nick of Wilmington, DE, as well as many extended family members, coworkers and friends. The family would like to thank the staffs of the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute at Windham Hospital and the Hartford HealthCare at Home Hospice Care for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Lori.

Calling hours will be Saturday, October 4 from 10-11 a.m. concluding with a Prayer Service at 11 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lori’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
