Lorraine Joan (Parente) Boughton, 81, of Rocky Hill, loving wife of Larry “Butch” Boughton, peacefully went to the Lord, Monday, October 12, 2020 in Hartford Hospital. Lorraine was born on Christmas Day in 1938, and raised in Hartford, one of four children to the late John and Mary (Caracciolo) Parente.
She and her family resided on the East Side before moving to the South End of Hartford. Lorraine had an extensive work career doing administrative work for the following: The Traveler’s Insurance Co., Society for Savings Bank, CHFA of the State of CT, Dutch Point Credit Union and the Town of Rocky Hill prior to retiring. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family, shopping and dining out with friends, walking rain or shine, going to the gym, traveling, knitting, decorating her home, and making many happy memories. In recent years, she was involved in community activities and was an active member of the Young Italian American Ladies Association.
Along with her husband Butch, Lorraine will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her loving family; her son and daughter in law, Joseph and Kathleen Boughton of South Windsor; her daughter and son in law Kelly and Frank Pellegrino of Wethersfield; her four adored grandchildren, Joey and Tony Boughton, Danny and Alyssa Pellegrino; her sister and brother in law, Christine and Donald Mertens of Rocky Hill; her sister in law Myrna Lamore of Rocky Hill, her brother in law and wife Theodore and Madeline Boughton of Phoenix and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family in Connecticut, Nevada and Arizona. In addition to her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her two brothers, Andrew and Joseph Parente, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 from 8:45-10:45 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. All CDC Covid guidelines will be followed. Due to current restrictions, the family will have a private mass at The Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield, followed by burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Section 28) 453 Fairfield Ave., Hartford. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash St, East Hartford, CT 06108.
