Lucia "Lucy" T. Buccino

Lucia “Lucy” T. (Cicoria) Buccino, 94, of Newington, beloved wife for 35 years of the late Thomas S. Buccino, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 24, 2025. Born in Hartford on June 27, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Vito and Letizia (Sorrentino) Cicoria. She attended St. Michael School and was a graduate of Weaver High School. Lucy retired from the State of CT Labor Dept as a D.P. Coordinator after 34 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed watching her favorite baseball team, the Yankees, and traveling with her husband in the U.S. Her favorite was numerous visits to Las Vegas. She liked to do jigsaw puzzles and most of all enjoyed listening to her late husband's piano music; playing all the favorite Italian and American tunes. Special thanks and love go to her dear cousin and his wife, Thomas and Mary Buccino of NY. Without them she never would have survived. She also leaves two nieces, Maria Cicoria and Kathy (Bill) Giannetti; three nephews, Vito, Edward and Robert Cicoria and their wives and great-nieces and great-nephews, all of FL; as well as several cousins in CT. She is predeceased by her brother, Carlo Cicoria and her sister, Marie Cicoria.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 7 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church of Annunciation Parish, 626 Willard Avenue, Newington. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, November 6 from 3-5 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield.
