

Lucian Bombaci, 95, of Waterford, beloved husband of the late Anna M. (Ferro) Bombaci passed away peacefully on April 7, 2017 with his daughter by his side. Lucian was born in Middletown on April 17, 1921 and was the son of the late Sebastian and Cesaria (Calvo) Bombaci. At three months old, Lucian was brought to Italy where he grew up in the town of Sortino in the Province of Siracusa, Sicily. He studied Civil Engineering at the University of Catania and at the end of WWII he joined the U.S. Army where he served in Triste and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. He lived in Hartford before moving to Waterford after his retirement. Lucian worked for the State of CT – DOT in Wethersfield as a Civil Engineer for 41 years. Lucian was a devoted husband and father, he leaves his daughter Nancy Bombaci of Waterford. He also leaved his sister Maria Bombaci-Ascone of Italy. In addition to his wife, Lucian was predeceased by his brother Frank Bombaci and his sisters, Lucy Tosta and Vincenza Silluzio. Lucian’s family would like to thank the VNA Nurses of Southeastern CT., the Hospice of Southeast CT., Dr. Abel Donka and the caregivers from Angel Care of Niantic for their care and compassion. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, April 12th at 9 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, 494 New Britian Avenue, Hartford with a burial at Mt.
