She is now reunited with her husband Frank A. Cannitello whom she has missed every day since his passing in 1982. They were married for almost 35 years. Lu worked for the Aetna for over 30 years, and was highly respected for her loyalty and fairness as a Supervisor. A devout Catholic, Lu was a long time communicant of St. Luke’s Church in Hartford.
Lu was a gentle woman, always ready and willing to help whomever asked and did it all with great love. She was a kind soul with an infectious laugh. An amazing seamstress Lu could sew or mend almost anything. She was also a talented cook and especially loved to bake. Everyone will remember her beautifully decorated birthday cakes that were as delicious as they looked as well as her Christmas cookies and famous sour cream cake.
Lu will be dearly missed by her children, Nancy (Jim), Frankie (Lynn), Jerome and Jo-Ann. Her grandchildren, Michael (Selma), Mark, Marci, Kristi and great grandchildren, Laila and Mona. She will also be remembered by her sister, Marianna and brother, Sam.
In addition, she will be missed by Cathy and Patty, who Lu considered herself as their second Mom. Lu was also Grandma to their children Tyler, Tricia, Christopher, Stephanie, Allie, Leah, and Taylor. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Lu was predeceased by her two brothers, Joseph and Frank, sister-in-law Ann and her beloved granddaughter, Courtney.
