

Luigi Gugliotti, 94, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2018 with his family by his side. He was the widower of Giovanna (Mancini) Gugliotti. Luigi was born on November 21, 1923 in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy and was the son of the late Michele and Filomena (Mancini) Gugliotti. Luigi was a humble and hardworking man. When at home, he was most often found tending his flawless garden. He always went above and beyond; when a job called for him to build a wall, he created a castle. Luigi sacrificed and persevered building his life and success from scratch. His dreams and ambitions followed him throughout his life from Italy, to Argentina and finally into the United States. He was the patriarch of his family and their bond with him is indestructible. Luigi is survived by a son, Carmine ""Carmelo"" Gugliotti and his wife Cristina of Wethersfield; his daughter Gina and her longtime companion Ferdinand Ramos of Wolcott, with whom he lived; six grandchildren, Leonardo and his wife Suzanne, Ariel and his wife Anna, Christina and her companion Kevin, Martin and his wife Teena, John, and Damian and his wife Deidre; ten great grandchildren, Claudia, Marcello, Viviana, Adriano, Olivia, Stella, Hailey, Valencia, Giuliana and Lyla; a brother, Giosue Gugliotti and his wife Antonietta of Italy, a sister-in-law Maria Gugliotti of Newington and several nieces and nephews. He will also be sadly missed by his dear dog “Blackie”. In addition to his parents and his wife, Luigi was predeceased by a brother, Angelo and a sister, Maria. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Entombment will immediately follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday morning, prior to the mass, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield.
