

Lydia (Lazzerini) Zappulla, 93, of Glastonbury, beloved wife for 55 years of the late Angelo Zappulla, Jr., died peacefully Monday, March 16, 2015 at Hartford Hospital. Born in New London on March 1, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Armanda Lazzerini. She retired as the assistant manager of the dress department at the former E.J. Korvette and also worked at G. Fox & Co. She is survived by her son, James S. Zappulla; her daughter, Sandra Donchin and husband Norman; three adored grandchildren, Shalyn Zappulla, Rachel Traub and husband Michael and Aaron Donchin and wife Gaya; two cherished great-grandchildren Alexander and Joshua Traub; her brother, Bruno Lazzerini, and many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and friends.
Calling hours will be Saturday (March 21) from 9-11 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at St. Paul’s Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury.
