

Manuel Milhomens, 85, of Bloomfield, beloved husband for 64 years of Maria (Leite) Milhomens, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025 surrounded by his family. Manuel was born on May 22, 1940, in St. Michaels, Azores, Portugal, and was the son of the late Joseph and Teresa (Dias) Milhomens.
Manuel worked for Peter Saven Landscaping for many years. He enjoyed countless days with his family on the shores of Old Saybrook, hunting and enjoying the peace in the woods. He was known to always be tinkering around the house, gardening in his backyard and making wine in his basement.
In addition to his devoted wife Maria, Manuel will be forever missed by his three sons, Manuel Milhomens, Americo Milhomens, both of Bloomfield and Joel Milhomens of Manchester. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Miranda Milhomens, Gerard Milhomens, Morgan Milhomens and Kyle Milhomens, along with his adored great-grandson, Justin Milhomens. Manuel also leaves his four sisters, Tina Corso and husband John of Cromwell, Maria Petrella of Vernon, Lucy Pappalardo and husband Anthony of FL and Lilly Rinaldi and husband Anthony of Rocky Hill, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Manuel was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Irene Dias Milhomens; his brother-in-law Gino Petrella and his daughter-in-law, Susanne Milhomens.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, December 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield.
