I have been a friend of Dan and Eva  for as long as I've known my husband (39 years!).  I realized, in looking at the various aspects of the website tribute, especially the poems and prayers, that her positive outlook on life and advocacy, along with her husband's, was passed on to her children: Dan, his sister, Cedar, and Dave. Hers was a life well-lived and impactful.  My deepest condolences to her children, extended family, and all who loved her.

We have met Meg only fleetingly, but we know her through her son Dan, a dear and wonderful friend. And we can see a little bit of Dan in Meg's favorite poems and through her paintings. We are grateful to Meg and Robbins for giving us Dan, and in turn, Eva.  

Dan and Eva, Meg will live on in you and through your memories.   We hope you find peace in that.

I met Meg & Robbins in the 90's.  They were so delightful and always so welcoming to our Star Trek fan group.  Thank you, Meg, for your legendary kindness.

Mrs Barstow was a caring, welcoming friend to my parents when they first moved from Wethersfield to Avery Heights.  She took them on a guided tour of the property, introduced them to her friends, and invited them to join her group for dinner. 
My mom and I were lucky enough to visit her apartment/art museum and view her many beautiful paintings that commemorated past international experiences. Just one of her many talents! 
She enjoyed sharing activities and stories with fellow residents, and made everyone feel better after spending time with her.

When Meg was 80 she wrote her life story.  Fortunately, she gave me a copy.  On her 100th birthday I went to see her and she was delighted that I still had the book, and totally amazed that she had ever done something so extensive and complicated.  It covers her life  from her birth in China up thru years in Connecticut, including pictures of her helping to make Connie. the life size sperm whale, which now stands at the Children's Museum in West Hartford! 

The book was a good start for Meg to talk with me about her life and I was so grateful to have that last visit with her!.   For me and for many who knew her, Meg was a kind, intelligent, steadfast beacon.  We will miss her light.  It was such a rarity in this world!     Jean Rioux
