Maria C. (Occino) Amodio, 90, of Wethersfield, entered into God’s care on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Maria was born In Messina, Italy and immigrated to the United States when she was 20 years old. She worked very hard supporting her family by providing a good life and nice things. In her earlier years she owned the Calico Kitchen & helped run Allegro's and also helped her son at Bagelz.
Anyone who knew her, Maria was known to always be "dressed to the nines". Her love of cooking showed with her authentic Italian dishes, where she shared her talents with family and friends. Entertaining and taking care of others is what she did best. She especially loved spending time with her fellow card players and setback friends. Knowing they'd play long into the night. She looked forward to her trips to the casino – where she was known to be a card shark.
She will be dearly missed by her children; Maria Moore and her companion, William Moore Jr., of Newington, Joseph Amodio and his wife, Vicky of Fl. and Thomas P. Amodio of Wethersfield, grandchildren; Michael Amodio and his wife, Megan, William Moore, III and his wife, Ashley and Christopher Robinson, Justin, Jackson and Maci Norkunas, great grandchildren; Griffin Moore, Maverick Amodio, Archer Moore and Maddin Amodio, her dear friends, the Sardo, Puzzo, Tavana, Sidlik families, Nancy Amodio, Scott DeMaio and her traveling partner, Carolyn.
