Maria Rosa (Colagiovanni) Carlone, 85, of Newington, beloved wife of Costanzo Carlone passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026 at her home with her loving family by her side. Maria was born on October 29, 1940 in Campodipietra, Italy and was the daughter of the late Michele and Filomena (D’Agata) Colagiovanni. She was predeceased by her brother Gennaro Colagiovanni and infant daughter Serafina.
Maria and Costanzo, married in 1958, eventually made their home in Newington. Maria was a devoted mother to her four children, and a beloved grandmother to her seven grandchildren. She leaves behind a family shaped by her love, who will carry forward her recipes, traditions, and values.
In addition to her husband, Maria will be missed by her children, Giovanni Carlone of CT, Serafina Carlone and Gary Prevost of NC, Claudia Ramondetta and Lucien of CA, Giuliana Madden and Joseph of PA. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Ryan Ramondetta, Collin Ramondetta, Olivia Prevost, Chloe Prevost, Taylor Madden, Erica Madden and Amber Madden.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, August 15, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. A prayer service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Britain.
