Marian C. Ogren, 97, of Hartford, beloved wife of the late Everett B. Ogren, died peacefully on December 1, 2018 at Avery Heights in Hartford. Born on February 23, 1921, in Hartford, Marian was the daughter of the late Alfred B. and Sophia (Grimm) Carlson. After her mother’s death, Marian was lovingly raised by her Uncle Ray and Aunt Edith Stolzenbach. Marian was a graduate of Wethersfield High School and Cambridge Secretarial School in Hartford. Prior to motherhood, Marian worked at the Travelers Insurance Company.
Marian enjoyed needlework, especially designing and sewing clothes. While living at Avery Heights, she embraced oil painting, Bingo, attending their social events and road trips. Her greatest pleasure was enjoying parties surrounded by her family.
Marian is survived by her four children and their families, Linda Lindell, Roger Ogren, Craig Ogren and Elaine Ogren-Speranza. She also leaves her grandchildren, Scott Lindell, Jason Lindell, Jennifer Lindell, Ashley Rashed, Evan Ogren and Eric Ogren along with her beloved great grandchildren, Ava Zimmerman, Abby Zimmerman, Jared Lindell, Veronica Lindell, Autumn Lindell and Sophia Rashed. In addition to her husband Everett of 46 years, and her parents, Marian was predeceased by her brother, Russell A. Carlson.
A funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford (weather permitting).
