

Mario L. 'Pluggy' Aronne, 91, of Cromwell, loving husband of the late Roberta (Erving) Aronne for 65 years, died peacefully, Saturday, (July 10, 2010) at St. Francis Hospital. He was born October 14, 1918 in Hartford and was the son of the late Michael and Angeline (Cersosimo) Aronne. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 169th Infantry Division. He owned and operated the former Sunray Control Company for over 40 years. Pluggy was an avid New York Yankee fan and enjoyed listening to Big Band music. He was a longtime faithful parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Rocky Hill. He is survived by his son, Robert Aronne and wife Janet of Rocky Hill and his daughter, Michele Rose and husband Michael of Cromwell; brothers, Frank Aronne and wife Doris of Bristol, Michael Aronne and wife Mary of Middletown, William Aronne and wife Rita, Joseph Aronne and sisters, Antoinette and Rose Aronne, all of Wethersfield; grandchildren, who affectionately called him 'Grandpa Lou', Michele Aronne-Hueber and husband Jason of Portsmouth, NH, Brett Aronne and Marc Kadish of Chestnut Hill, MA and Robert Aronne and wife Reba of Tempe, AZ; as well as his great-granddaughter, Samantha Hueber and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Horace and Blaise Aronne and a sister, Anna Aronne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday (July 16) at 12 noon at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 280 Brook Street, Rocky Hill. The burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
