Mary E. (Langer) DePasquale, 98 of Pompano Beach, FL and Wethersfield died peacefully and comfortably Sunday, (March 10, 2013) at home in Wethersfield with her family around her. The cause was the cumulative effects of aging. She was the beloved wife of 58 years of the late John A. DePasquale, MD. Born in Hackensack, NJ on March 6, 1915, she moved to Hamden at an early age. Mary attended St. John's Catholic Grammar School, Hillhouse High School and graduated in 1935 from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Hartford, earning her RN degree. She became Head Nurse at St. Francis Hospital, where one fortuitous night she met the love of her life, John, while he was on rounds during his medical residency. Over the years, Mary was very active socially and civically having been elected President of The Hartford County Medical Association, was a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club and Mad Money Investment Group in Wethersfield. The hobby she loved most, allowing her to exercise her many creative talents, was designing and assembling beaded flowers. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael R. and Antoinette (Lago) Langer. She was the loving and selflessly caring mother to and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John A. DePasquale, Jr. and Elizabeth, of Matinecock, NY; her daughter, Mary- Jean A. (Mimi) DePasquale, of Wethersfield and two adoring grandchildren, Alexa Ann and John A. DePasquale III, of Matinecock, NY, whom she loved very dearly. She also leaves a sister, Lillian L. Lenkowski, of Venice, FL and many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her brother, Francis R. Langer and two sisters, Margaret V. Sucsy and Helen A. Langer, RN. A special thank you to Pam and Alex Cilen for the love and compassionate care they gave our Mom in Florida.
